HOLIDAY DINNER: For our Dec meeting, the Gold Coast Cymbidium Society and the Peninsula Orchid Society would like to invite the members to a social gathering potluck. You may bring your spouse or a guest. Please RSVP to Dennis Olivas at d.olivas@comcast.net by Friday Dec 12, and indicate whether one or two will be attending.
Setup at 6:00 PM. Hor d’oeuvres at 6:30 PM. Dinner at 7:00 PM.
Both societies will provide roast chicken and ham. Also, we will provide water, coffee, tea, dinner and dessert plates, cups, napkins, and silverware.
We would like members whose last name begins with the following letter to bring enough to serve 15 people:
A – D: Hor d’oeuvres
E – I : Salads
J – R: Hot dishes (like scalloped potatoes, mac & cheese)
S – Z: Desserts
For entertainment, we will have an optional holiday gift exchange. You can choose whether to participate or not. It’s a lot of fun!
Bring a wrapped orchid or orchid related gift costing no more than $20 for each in attendance. We will give you a ticket for each gift you bring. After dinner, we will start pulling tickets. Each person will pick a gift and unwrap it. The next person can either pick an unwrapped gift or steal one that was already unwrapped. An item can be snagged only twice and belongs to the last person who snagged it.
We would appreciate it if you would help to clean up at the end of our fun night.
